'The Girl with the Flaxen Hair' ('La fille aux cheveux de lin') is the eighth prelude from Debussy's 'Preludes, Book I.' The piece begins with a delicate arpeggio motif, from which much of the following music is derived. The piece builds in tension and volume towards a climax in the middle of the piece, before winding down for a tender, relaxing ending.
